Baan Thai Phulita Community Enterprise is a private sector that engages in southern provinces on enhancing knowledge, creating a paradigm for sustainable development and a learning process through a participation process together with the development of people, areas, and products. As a result of the establishment of Provincial Sustainable Agriculture Confederations in four southern provinces (Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat) enable farmers to have a mechanism for self-management, area, and product from upstream, midstream, and downstream as well as connect with stakeholder in food security chain in three deep south provinces to deal with the development challenges and strengthen the agriculture sector in southern border provinces to ensure that no one is left behind.

1. Develop participatory processes to link farmers’ production chains and the needs of entrepreneurs

  • Activities
    • Co-design a network structure of the Sustainable Agriculture Confederation in Yala, Pattani, Narathiwat, and Songkhla
    • Strengthen the marketing channels/ distributing local food products
    • Manage strategic marketing with business partners from various sectors
    • Co-share vision together
    • Create collaborative learning process to understand the mechanism of OAN tools for joint development in the whole supply-demand of food chain
  • Stakeholders
    • Farmers/Federations in 3 provinces that are interested in the organic agriculture
    • Entrepreneurs
    • Involving agencies from upstream, midstream, and downstream process
    • Around 105 pax (35 pax each province i.e. Yala, Pattani, and Narathiwat)

2. Conduct PGS inspection mission in targeted areas and bring the data for analysis and management on the OAN Platform

    • Conduct PGS inspection mission in targeted areas and bring the data for analysis and management on the OAN Platform
  • Stakeholders
    • Farmers/Federations in 3 provinces that have plots certified PGS inspection and farmers with new plots
    • 20 plots each in Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat in total of 60 plots
  • Expected output
    • Inspector conducts all 60 plots in 3 provinces by bringing the data for analysis and management on the OAN Platform

3. Training on digital skills and the use of the OAN Platform

  • Activities
    • Training on digital skills and the use of the OAN Platform
    • Training on participatory sustainable practices for upstream food producers, especially smallholder farmers which will create various business opportunities
    • Add value to local food products by jointly developing a database through the OAN Platform enabling farmers to manage farming data, farm calendar, cost planning, production plan, income plan linking between Supply – Demand.
  • Stakeholders
    • The qualified plot inspectors on the SDGsPGS participative organic farming data entry in each province – 35 pax each in total of 105 pax.
    • Data from farmers in at least 60 plots in 3 provinces processed into the system
  • Expected output
    • 60% of invited inspectors know how to use OAN Platform (60 pax from 3 provinces)

4. Upskill the qualified plot inspectors on the SDGsPGS participative organic farming data entry, management, and analysis skills.

    • Training on Upskill the qualified plot inspectors on the SDGsPGS participative organic farming data entry, management, and analysis skills 4 times (one-day each time)
    • Build analytical skills
    • Data entry into the system
    • Data can be processed into the online system and used for group certification meetings and provide certificates and QR Code for traceability to certified plots/ farmers.
  • Stakeholders
    • The qualified inspector in Narathiwat, Pattani and Yala in total of 60 pax
    • 20 plots in each province pass the SDGsPGS participative organic farming standard
  • Expected outputs
    • 30% of invited inspectors know how to use OAN Platform (60 pax from 3 provinces)

5. The qualified plots of the SDGsPGS participative organic farming standard are 100% supported by the market and a certificate showing in front of panel, shop, and in the local market can creates confidence to consumers and be traced back to the upstream production plot

    • Organize a participatory organic agriculture certification committee meeting SDGsPGS
    • Business matching between certified producers (Yala, Pattani, Narathiwat and Songkhla) and buyers
    • Establishing fair trade governance principles, trust, confidence, transparency, and participatory learning.
